What Is an Immediate Denture?

An immediate denture is a temporary prosthesis placed in the mouth right after tooth extraction. It is used to minimize aesthetic and functional problems that may occur due to tooth loss. Since it is inserted on the same day as the extraction, the patient does not experience a toothless period and can continue daily life without interruption.

These dentures are used during the healing process of the jawbone and gums. Once healing is complete, they are replaced with permanent dentures.
